Default Re: '57 150 car

Craig,

The Handyman wagon had windows in the cargo area but not the same design as the Nomad. The Nomad used Hardtop doors with no frame around the windows and the rear side windows would slide open. The Handyman rear windows were fixed units and used sedan type full-frame doors. The car you describe was a Sedan Delivery, also referred to as a panel wagon. In '57, as in the early to mid '60's, if you knew the right codes you could get any engine in any body style. Yes, the 283/283 FI engine would have been available in the Sedan Delivery. Were there any actually produced????? Probably. I have seen a BelAir four door wagon with the 250 HP version of the FI 283 and Air Conditioning that is reported to be authentic. If they put them in 4 door wagons, why not in the S/D? Racers were pretty sharp even back then.
