www.up22.com This site has loads of hoods and fiberglass for all kinds of cars, and should have a phase 3 hood for your corvette.

Apparently Hot Rod Magazine thinks that their hoods are good enough to go on their project cars. I've likewise seen other people with hoods from the same company (70-81 Camaro), and they look fine to me. For an L-88 style camaro hood, would you rather buy one from Motion for $600, or one from www.up22.com for $220. To me, the choice is obvious. The less expensive one duh!

You can still buy directly from Legendary Fiberglass in PA who was one of the original suppliers to Motion.

The problem with the UP22 hood is the L-88 hood scoop is too short lengthwise. The front of the scoop starts almost a 1/3 way back from the front of of the hood and just plain does not look right. The L-88 scoop part on the original Motion hood from Legendary starts almost at the leading edge of the hood or at least within an inch or two-and gently curves back. Just like it was back in the day.
I bought an L-88 Nova hood from legendary for $335 at Carlisle and the quality was just about the best I've seen. The reason Hot Rod uses their hoods is UP is a BIG ADVERTISER. It's called scratching the back of the people that pay your bills. Hot Rod would write an article about the stuff that ends up in your toilet and portray it smelling like rose petals if you took out an ad in their mag each month. Have you not noticed the mags anymore are not just one big infomercial for the advertisers??? When was the last time an article said this part fits/works like crap? |

Thank you for this iformation. I spoke with Larry Williams who has owned & operated Legendary Fiberglass for over 30 years. He was very friendly & said that he was the original & only supplier of the Corvette Phase III hood to Motion. He still has the mold & agreed to supply a hood at a very reasonable price.
I will let you know about the quality when I receive it in 4-6 weeks. They do not have a websight. |

John when you wait 8 weeks for their Great hood and it's 7/16 too narrow in the back and 3/8 too wide in the front and the inner structure in the front hits the rad support and it sets 2inches above the front fenders it's crap pic enclosed
