I was at a car show in LI yesterday and met Paul K. who was on the crew for the 70 Motion Camaro marroon lace paint drag car. Nice guy and had a great conversation with him. He said there was only one 70 Camaro Motion drag car. It was marroon lace paint in 1970, white paint job in 71, then yellow. While at the show I bought the Ertl car of the marroon lace paint Camaro and Paul's name is on the door. Just for fun I asked Paul to sign the roof.

The maroon 70 is one of my favorite Motion diecast camaro's.
I did not know they used the same car and just did a repaint.Does anyone know where the car is today?

The car was sold to a drag racer in HI. I heard that it was raced for awile then parts out and sat as a shell rotting away then scrapped. Don't know if this is true but if so it's is a sad ending for a cool car.

VIN of the car anybody. There are still plenty of 70 Camaros that run on the tracks around here throughout the islands.

Paul K. said he remembers it to be originaly a red car 396 350 hp auto trans early build date.
On a side note about the 375hp 1970 auto trans cars were there any or not? I am leaning more towards no because Motion didn't get a 375 auto and the Dick Harrell 70 that came up on here was not a 375 auto. If those two shops didn't get a 70 Camaro 375 auto car to start a conversion with then maybe there just wasn't any. |

That subject alone can and has become a Hold new thread altogether in the past. I still believe that all 600 1970 L78 camaros were Manual trans cars. Charley has that one by him that the owner says has an L78 with TH400,and some would like to see the buildsheet & car. Not discrediting or crediting anything or anyone here,I'm just being patient. |
