I'll have to measure the rear. It is a perfect fit with N50s and the Motion ZL1 flairs. I was confident that it was a Don Hardy Built rear. The trans mount as well as few other components on the car are also Don Hardy.

I believe the 12 Bolt Rear Motion used for "Rat Bird" is Coded 1970 Camaro or Nova, can't recall which one.

Stefano

I believe (testing my memory from 4 or 5 years ago) the rear end in your car is a 74 1/2 truck rear end......or at least that is what the brakes and hardware fit......I have read somewhere that the 1/2 ton pickup was a popular choice for conversion.....doesn't that rear axle have the c clip eliminator's on it?

I didn't find a code on the axle housing.

The casting number is 3917124N GM2DN Date looks like E 21 8.

The axle has big brakes (Truck) and the factory coil spring upper control arm ears.

Edge of flange to edge of flange is 49 1/2 inches.

The tires on it now are N5015s with a full 12 inches of tread under the ZL1 Flairs.

Whoah!!! That's a pretty wild one that I've never seen. Did it come from Motion w/ those flares? Is this one of the BB beasts? More specs and pics would be great. Thanks for the post.

Thanks Guys. It is a wild Steet Freak.

The car was found in Florida, by The COPO Locator, Tim Lapata ,a few years ago. It has passed through the hands of at least a few board members, before I ended up with it.

It has a '74 350 stroked to 377. A TH400 trans and 12 Bolt with 4.56 gears.

The car is as I purchased it. There is no documentation that this is a Motion Converted Vega, but it is at the very least,a Motion Equipped Vega.

The Flairs were available from Motion Performance, they are called ZL1 Flairs.

If it was a Motion converted Vega, couldn't Joel Rosen verify it and provide you with some documentation as such? You'd think.
