Frank, do you know of any 1980s SS Monte Carlos made in Mexico with 350 and 4 sp? I have read that a few were built.

Joe this is one of the only ones that I know of. Would be a pretty neat car to have!

The Hurst shifter handle in the 84 Monte is similar in design to the 69 Camaro Hurst handle, round with the flat area for the Hurst name. As for muscle cars shipped to Mexico, let us not forget the Rally Green 69 Baldwin Motion Camaro that went to the son of the Governer of Mexico.

Matt;
All Hurst shifters installed by GM were round with the flat sides with HURST stamped into them. When speaking with Mr. Campbell about it, he informed me that GM wanted the round stock arms because they were much cheaper to produce compared to the flat stock arms on the OTC shifters. Campbell agreed that the round stock arms were not as good as the flat stock, but that was what GM wanted - so they made them!
