THe L78 and L34 were both called 396 cubic inches, actually they were 402's due to a casting change. The L78 solid-lifter motor was not available with air conditioning, but the L34 hydraulic lifter motor did come with air. Chevrolet rated the L78 at 375 HP in 1970, and the L34 at 350 HP. There were 600 L78 Camaros built, not sure how many L34 cars. There were also L78 and L34 Novas and Chevelles built in 1970. Couldn't tell you the value of an L34 car, or an L78 for that matter, as they don't seem to change hands very often! -Sam [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/  [/img]
