I don't remember any Camaros having been able to be delivered from the factory with no paint/primer only. (Jim M.) would know for certain.
The double dash paint code delete just meant the car was painted a non standard color and had to be processed via COPO. |

Couldn't the -- paint also mean stripe delete? If the heater delete was added, than I could see the original owner also removing the brake booster. I wouldn't get hopes up that it was something special built though. Still, a number matching Z28 needing work is probably worth $15-20K, then add the value of the crossram which probably adds $5-7K. Sounds like the car is priced appropriately.

I used to work with a guy who ordered a 74 or 75 corvette that was delivered unpainted because he wanted a custom paint job. I don't know if it was "delivered in white"

Stefano, I know of a Blue 69 Z28 out of N. Illinois, (Cederville) that had the Dash paint code and it was a stripe delete car. Went to school with the orginal owner, want to say his son owns the car now.

I have seen the dash paint code on a 68 Yenko Camaro and believe it was for stripe delete.

The -- paint code was usually a non standard color. I am not sure about Chevrolet but I know Ford delivered some of the 69 Boss cars to TA race teams in primer, some of the Hemi Darts were delivered in a mixture of black and primer. The Penske TA Camaro's had the -- paint code as the Penske/Sunoco blue was a non standard color and delivered to Penske with the -- on the cowl tag. Jeff, good question about stripe delete, anyone know how Chevrolet designated stripe delete on the cowl tag? Does the car have the heater delete plate on the dash? What is the rear end code? While typing this I cant remember if you listed the VIN, if not do you have it? Never know what could be turned up.

Not sure about 1969 but in 62 there were cars sent to Grand National racers as "bodies in white"....
