Your only real shot on IDing this car is if the original block is there. 68 L79s have their own codes ep or mk. One for 3spd one for 4spd. I've seen one of these cars way back in 69, and I have a correctly coded block. They were real quick! Schonye

I had a black/black '68 L79 back in '73. For what it was, it ran really great. It had 14" Cragar mags. Real sanitary. It was NOT an SS option car. That car started my luv for Nova's. I am a kinda big person, was not real comfortable in it with bench seat, so I sold it and bought an L79 '68 Chevelle hardtop with buckets and no console, also black/black, fit me better, and which promptly was stolen/disappeared about 2 months later..
I couldn't afford a 396 car then, so I went the sb route, not having a clue how much rarer they were then.. If only the clock could be turned back.. J
