The engine compartment isn't really done up that much. You can't change the air cleaner if you want to keep your cowl induction. I added headers, battery topper, finned valve covers(fake so I have been told) and a orange blade flex a lite fan.

Frank,
Looks like you're doing a real nice/neat day 2 mod. on your very nice Chevelle----But, I heard in some big races the guy who looses, would fork over his pink slip----Never heard of shrinking the losers head and hanging it from your mirror---is this a local custom??? ----JoeG--

Yes it is. Sometimes a lot worse happens to the loser in Chicago! From what I hear Brooklyn is no picnic either. I actually heard that a lot of the towns problems are burried in the cement pillars of the Brooklyn Bridge!

BTW whitetop or anyone else. Know where I could get a nice 12 bolt finned vintage differential cover for my 'velle?

Frank
Moon Equipment makes one from the original mold and it is 100% dimensionaly/appearance correct-see attachment. Flatlander Hot Rod Parts also sells it among many other companies. Somebody has the original mold and is wholesaling them out to these companies. $69.00 Part # fldc12 800-547-5422
The only problem with them is the surface has more roughnes than the original. Casting looks like it's been used one too many times some minor defects. Definetely not as clean as an original. Looks like they are using a courser sand in the molds than the originals. Originals pop up on ebay/swaps on occasion but usually have fin damage, or messed up at the bottom from floor jacks or just plain junk.
I was going to buy a repop and tone down the coarsness somewhow. Any suggestions? Maybe Jerry McNeish could help.
I thought maybe just a light touch of handsanding to tone down the high points and then a beadblasting. Also the tops of the fins and the outside edge need to be sanded in one direction to get that machined look the originals had.
