Tom
You did a really nice job on the resto. How about some "before" pics. Always neat to see what you started with. Are you looking for a set of the magnesium rear wheels that were slotted like in the original pic? I know a guy that has a set but they are 16" which was very popular back then. Not sure what size your car originally ran. I don't think you can get tires for them anymore though so would have to find a nice used set for display only. Dave |

We've got some before pics here somewhere, but they're really not much to look at. Just a fiberglass body in primer, and a dirty frame.
As for the wheels/tires, I believe he has been hunting a set of 16" magnesium wheels! The wheels on it now (I think?) are 16" American Racing wheels, and he was *supposed* to be getting some vintage (ie. correct) tires mounted on them, but for some reason they haven't made it in from Cali. I think he was gonna try and shoot you a PM before he left for Bowling Green where Mo and the car are waiting. Mo said it's getting LOTS of looks/compliments. Watching the guy hand letter the car was friggin' AMAZING... Nothing like real hand lettered cars with brush strokes. I almost gaged at Ford Carlisle when I looked at a premo restored T-Bolt and the car had vinyl graphics. Step up and do it right...BKH

Back to work after a long weekend. Talked to alot of people about the car, and there were lots of smiling faces. I would like to have a nickle for every picture that was taken of the car. Now to get it running for the next show.

Mo,
Good to meet you face-to-face on Friday and see the car. I agree (as we discussed) hand lettering is the only way to do these cars. WAY too many of the nostalgia Super Stockers at Bowling Green had vinyl lettering. Yeah, it's quicker and easier, and no doubt cheaper but the cars deserve to be treated to 'period correct' details. I have done my share of lettering on race cars and can testify to the quality of work on this car. Whoever did it should be commended. Tom/Rob, you made the right choice! BTW, nothing but positive comments on the car from the group I was with. Thanks for bringing her back! Dennis
