I couldn't help but feel that I was transported back to Yenko Chevrolet while walking the back parking lot seeing all of the cars lined up waiting to be converted. Was good to see several board members in attendance as well as speak with Mr. Chevrolet's family and friends. All this only 10 miles from my house.

It was a very neat experience to say the least. After the unveiling Dave from GMMG gave me and Dad a personal tour of the place. If you're reading this Dave, thanks!!
The Harrell car was painted 1968 Tripoli Turquoise. They couldn't have picked a better color to paint it. It also had the 630 HP Phase III 427. It sounded great when Matt fired it up inside of that building with all of those horses echoing off of the walls! Dan ![]()

If you go to Forum and scroll down to 2002 Z28Unveiling
there are 3 pages of the car and some of the event. Which by the way went very well. The car looked better than expected and it Is not car #1. It was the #2 prototype. I could be wrong but I thought Charlie was to get #1. I do know 3 cars were sold at this event. 1 car may go to Larry and Pat Leatherman who also still own Larry,s 69ZL1. I finally got to meet my nemisis,Tim LaPata. Tim was very nice. He spent much of his time getting input from the Harrell team that built the original cars. For Val and I it was a rough last few months going over details about the car. I must say Matt Murphy and all the guys at GMMG came through with a VERY nice car. Our goal was not to have a car with just a few names and stickers changed,But to have a Dick Harrell version that stands alone. That is what it is. This was the prototype a few little changes are to be made but I would have to say no one would have any complaints. DP ![]() |
