-----There were definetly 396/425 Impalas made.A friend of mine has a yellow/white gut SS that the engine has never been out of.Im pretty sure that you couldnt get an automatic,however.At least I have never seen or heard of one!.......Bill S

The trim tag had 65-16637 which shows it as an Impala SS with a V8. The TH400 leads me to believe it was a 396/325 hp car though.

65 impala 396 / 425hp were all manual trans engine codes should be IA-IC-IE or IF impala with an 396 with auto/trans were 325 /hp
not to say that some one did not convert it but no factory 396/425 auto/trans |
