Many companies made that type of hood scoop. It was referred to as a "Bauman scoop" because of the "Bauman layer" -some physics priciple that helped design it. It was also affectionatly called a Sox & Martin scoop or Mopar scoop because so many Mopar guys ran it. A&A made one as well as Fiberglass Trends as well as many others I'm sure. Probably came out in early '70. Never really seen one before that in any of the publications. Grumpy started to run one on his '70's Camaro. Very popular in the early to mid '70's. |

I'm thinking I've seen this hood on one of the Motion race cars as well. I'm guessing this hood was in production for a while? |

The one in the second pictire is shaped more like a Bill Jenkins style, Ive seen those called a Grump Lump. But Bill used them with an opening at the base of the windshield, not in front like that one. |

68 Top Stocks pic has a "Grump Lump" scoop. Jenkins used it on his first prostock car. Frank |
