Default Re: B/M Vette Tire Sizes

Ryan
If your going to use BFG's todays metric size is P275-60-15 for the L-60-15 size tire. L-60-15's did not really come out until very early '70's by most manufacturers. M/T introduced theirs in March '71. Back in '69 there was alot of tire manufactures that made cheater type slicks like Casler, Inglewood, Bruce, Marsh, M/H etc. Why not use M/t bias ply Indy profile tires. While not correct for '69 looks better IMO than radials if your trying to build a period type car.

If you are using really wide flares on the rear you can use a M/T N-50-15 (P295-50-15)that has a 12" wide tread and use a 10" wheel to fill up the wheelwell. Most N50's came out in '73 era so you may be going past your time frame.

The slotted aluminum wheels came in size 15x8.5 and Cragars S/S are 15x8.
