First speedway is easy, it "says" Las Vegas in the infield! Right next to Nellis AFB, I watched a great variety of planes fly in and out during the last NHRA national event last fall. B2's, F22's, B52's, everything big and small!

PS I was trying to turn KC into Baghdad, the rivers weren't quite right...

And race track #2 is Fontana, CA's California Speedway!

What was the watery place, with the islands? - it was NOT Supercars Kevin's homeland!

You must be right, but for a minute there I thought it was Seattle turned 90 degrees clockwise from north. Thought the leftmost bridge was the one running off Mercer Island with the highway going into Bellevue. Clearly now though, the city doesn't get close enough to Puget Sound.

GarnetM20 Jeff, you are right that IS Puget Sound! That's a really high shot, Kevin's house is just along the right edge of the picture near the top...mine is off screen to the right.

Amazing pictures for sure. My house is just off the screen to the right (north), about a fourth of the way down on the right hand side. Downtown Seattle and waterfront is the bay (called Elliot Bay) just above the south (left) floating bridge. Between my house on the right side of the screen and the first point on the shoreline is a park called Golden Gardens.

In the early 1970's Golden Gardens Park was where we raced after hours. I had a 70 LS6 Chevelle built to the max. Lift kit all the way around, had ladder bars, and 12" wide Bridgestones, motor was pretty much the way Motion Performance did cars. One night the Cops were patrolling in the distance(we were all parked) and started getting closer to me. My car was not technically street legal. I fired up to leave and immediately lights flashed on and they headed straight for my car. After about a 20 minute lecture, about "loud exhaust", "car was jacked up to high", "you kids are always racing down here", and "BLAH-BLAH-BLAH"; they gave me a choice. Either they would impound my car right then and there, or I was to take it home never to be seen on the street again, as they would impound it immediately. Easy choice for me! I went home.

Boy, Belair, you are right! I've always had it in my head it was "Traffic" that did that song, and even downloaded a track off the net labeled as such! I guess I got some of the Traffic/Blind Faith/Cream/Derek & Dominoes guys mixed up! All of those bands were kind of a "potpurri" of musicians! Oh well, now I know! Of course, not many 27 year olds have heard of any of those groups...
