I am actually here at the shop this morning. Steve said the owner wanted to leave the original door on the car and not replace or repair the "drilled" out door. So there you have it.....it was the owners decision.
FYI..This car was listed for sale (on this site) on New Years Day at 275k and sold in less than 3 hours. |

Dennis;
Any idea why? Maybe he wanted to keep a little of the 'old race' heritage? I know of two other ZL1's from PA that were mini-tubbed. I know of another one that dropped a valve, ruining the block. The first 4 replacement blocks that were shipped to Penske Chev. never made it into the car because they were stolen. The 5th block finally made it into the engine bay, only to have the entire car stolen two weeks later The owner just parked it in front of his house in suburban Philadelphia, poof, gone, what a bummer!
