As far as (I) know, they were used on the SHP engines and some HP engines that were destined for California and was part of the California emissions program. For any other application, I believe they were dealer installed or over the counter.

Just One example:
A 1970 Chevelle LS-6 made to sell new in the state of Calif.,or Neveda,recieved NA9 EEC,Charcoal cannister.This system included this Holley Carb/Intake insulator plate.In years to follow,other non SHP engines recieved it as well. |

They may be ugly but they work great,esp on the 70 low plenum intake.

Did you look at the Nova Times back issue from September 1997? Page 39, the upper right picture? They show the carb on the intake. Didn't look like they put a plate on. Ron [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif[/img] |
