Marlin can verify, but Sunflower Yellow was indeed one of the new "spring colors" introduced within the second batch of 50 Deuces... Hugger Orange and Citrus Green were also added at this time. 10 of each were built. These 3 new colors replaced Gobi Beige, Cortez Silver, and Forest Green... Those 3 colors were only offered in the original batch of Deuces. Cranberry Red and Fathom Blue carried into the second batch with an additional 10 cars of each color being built along with the 3 new spring colors. Our own Schoney has a Sunflower yellow Deuce he bought brand new in 70 from Rapids Chevrolet, and is one of the nicest unrestored Deuces out there. He had it at SCR2. ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Someone has been paying attention during the seminars ![]()

Yea, but Joe's a teacher. He's used to paying attention. The rest of us were trying to hit you with spitballs.
![]() The spring colors don't show up in all 70 paint code books. My old Dupont book doesn't show it, while the old ppg/Ditzler does. I think that adds to some confusion about availability. |

From 1970 Spring Dealer guide.
Notice it says they're not available on the 1970 LS-6 Chevelle....unless specially ordered we now know. ![]() |

![]() Those four Spring colors have a notation to salesmen on the back that says,"Commencement of production of the NEW Spring colors is January 15,1970". Earlier then I thought.. |
