I had better not say what state. However I will tell you about our vacation. Pigeon Forge is getting just like Branson. My wife who is a horse lover had to stop by the Tennessee Walking Horse association headquarters. I thought about stopping by a seeing Ratpack & Copoloco. Saw a nice '68 Camaro for sale outside of Chattanooga. Wife got sick on the winding roads of the Smokey Mountains ( was driving the '02 Camaro and got a little carried away). Never been to Florida but heard it's nice. Dave |

Dave, I can respect that. Likely he was having a bad day. I hear he's a pretty good guy. I did a resto on one of his cars before he bought it in 1980-81? but have never dealt personally with him. However, I would love to have his collection!

And Dave why didn't you call? You looked in the phone book and there was not a listing for RatPack right? That "golden boy" you referred to could have given it to you. Man you were less than 30 minutes away from me and Copoloco and you have to pass my house to get from Chattanooga to Pigeon Forge or the other way around. No excuses there buddy! I will remember you on the next trip. At least you came down here to God's Country and got to see some beautiful scenery............ ........RatPack..........
p.s. We could have gotten you in for free and been given a guided tour............... |

Yes, I was probably a little harsh in my description and he probably is a good guy. I should not base my opinion on that one brief encounter. As a business owner myself I've been known to be a little grouchy myself at times. I overheard two other visitors saying to each other confirmed what I was thinking because they were the ones trying to have a conversation with the owner. It was early in the morning if that had anything to do with it-maybe the coffee was not yet kicking in. Maybe the new property tax bill came in the mail. It is a very nice museum and I would go back.

I spoke to Mr. Jackson at The Barriett-Jackson in 2002 and was not bidding on his car. I found him to be really nice, and very willing to discuss cars. Midway into our conversation-Mr. Jackson asked me to call him by his first name. Perhaps he is tired of being treated as a "Public item" by so many people, and responds in a negitive way as a result. I just know that after a simple 5 minute conversation he gave me his business card and told me to call him and stop by to see his cars-anytime I was in California. (No I did not take him up on the offer)
