Geeze, didn't mean to start a spittin match. We had more mopars in the area than Fords, but guess we'd better not go there. Marlin, we tried bleech one time during a burnout, but don't think it did much good. To clairify, do not confuse a 428 SUPERcobrajet, with a regular run of the mill cobra jet. SCJ's will with the right amount of coaxing run pretty well, probably better than a Boss 429 in street trim. Now withrespect given to the SCJ, what is it Pete says, when the flag drops the b ll s it stops? Schonye

Not having a spitting match at all. Just feeling a little reckless, and it makes for an interesting read! Had our first snow and I'm getting itchy already. It gunna be a long winter... Ever seen Barrie Poole make his 428 Stangs work????? Just get out of his way! Yes, The Bull Sh## stops when the green flag drops!

Hey Schoneye, I'd rather run against a Ford than a Mopar or Pontiac. From what I have seen, the stock blue ovals just don't do well at the strip.

Here's some numbers from the 2000 Pure Stock Drags.

'68 Ford-Shelby Stang GT500KR w/ 428/335, 3a - best run: 14.383 at 95.75.

'70 Ford-Mach I w/ 428/335, 4m - best run: 14.100 at 98.69.

'68 1/2 Ford-GT Stang w/ 428/325, 4m - best run: 13.258 at 106.64.

The last car ran pretty good, but that was the year of the L89 Novas - JJ's '69 went 12.504 at 110.57 and Neal's '68 went 12.945 at 107.66. Terry Pennington's L89 '68 Camaro went 12.883 at 105.14.

Just food for thought.
