Default Re: 427/425 Biscayne?

Posted this pic in the for sale section (car isn't) so I thought I'd throw a picture of my '69 Biscayne from the early 70's in this thread.

Default Re: Too COOL !

Those were the first passes I ever made down a dragstrip and it showed. After that event we pulled down the engine and kinda rebuilt it more to racing "stock" specs. It went a 13.65 back at Thompson about 4 years ago. I broke the trans on the next pass. The car hasnt been out since, I put south side bars and headers back in, drove it around a while and it started making noise, tore the engie back down and found a bad rod bearing and its still on the stand. In the meantime decided I wasnt really wanting to race it anymore but just have fun crusing. We built a real racecar that we run in a Blown Alky group. Has run a best of 7.65 @ 181.

I waited four years for the owner/restorer of this car to part with it and have owned it for a year and a half. These cars are interesting in that they separate the true enthusiasts from those that like anything with shiny paint. One of my neighbors wanted to know if it was my grandfather's car Others have called it the" big white taxicab".The only thing that betrays the sleeper image are those 427 fender badges. Walk softly and carry a big stick. And never lift the hood before you race.

Default Welcome to the BIG car web site.

Beeeautiful!!!
Marc welcome to the site. These guys like to talk about small cars...but that doesn't make them all bad. Every once in awhile they will indulge into the BIG cars...but they got to be big blocks.
Actually this is a big car site, we are just lett'n the small car guys borrow it.

Default BIG car stories.

Rick, let's hear some more big car stories. I especially like the ones where the BIG cars beat those girlie LS6's.

WOW. Now I know why my car won't pull the wheels. I only have three feet of trunk behind the rear axle.

Seriously, Cool pix and even cooler car. Keep 'em coming.
