For the 1st gen. Camaros, Motion typically used standard Hooker headers and then fabricated an "S" pipe to tie into the mid-year corvette side exhaust. There is an article in a '69 CARS magazine which shows this. Another method used was to tap into the side of the header at the point just beyond where the 4 tubes came together and then fabricate a pipe to tie into the side exhaust. A plate was used to block off the header outlet which could be removed at the track for open headers. This set-up was also shown in CARS magazine. I have never seen a header made for 67-69 Camaros to tie into the corvette side exhausts. Hedman made headers for the corvette that hooked up to the side exhaust, but this would not work on Camaros.

Maybe its the same magazine ,but I also remember an article from 1967/68 detailing the side pipe installation on a Nickey 427 Camaro, just as you refered to.
