Isn't it always strange how good old mother nature can destroy everything on a car except the trim tag? Let's keep track of the body number and see where it pops up six months from now.

The guy cant even get the tag right X44 base car yes non BBC/Non Z or Non SS350 ----D80 is the spoiler option not another X44
At least this one has part of the car with the tags and title http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1859780797 and the second one has a VIN starting with 123379 N701191 Very late built car--- 6 cylinder with a spoiler or was it swapped out long time ago. Another ? did Chevy install the D80 option on more cars to depleate the stock of spoilers at the plants???

Never seen L6 car with a spoiler!
The plant couldn't just add options to existing orders. Extra parts would go into service inventory. Robber, I'd be curious to see your spreadsheet.

Known COPO body numbers for 05D and 05C cars seem to be considerably lower (50,0000+ units) than the early June cars posted. I know 2 cars built in 05C have 298xxx body numbers Vin 646xxx and 647xxx and an 05D has body number 301xxx.

Body #'s and VIN #'s do not always increase in parallel, so a car with a later body # can have a VIN mixed in with other cars' with earlier body #'s. Strange, but true!

Marlin, my point was typically the '69 Camaro COPO body #'s are generally lower for the same VIN # range than a non COPO cars at least for the ones I've seen. This has been attributed to both batching and difficulty in getting the BE rears. As an example, the late May COPO body #'s are about 30,000 units lower than non COPO car body #'s built at the same time. The early June cars' body #'s posted look odd when compared to the late May COPO body #'s I've seen.

Marlin, In ref: to the other X44 D80 tag w/ the 6cly car. Did you notice the markings on the right rear back seat brace? I inlarged the photo, I can clearly make out a 4 but there are also other number markings present. Any clue? I thought it was only 1 letter and 1 number .
