A Z-16 is a 1965 Chevelle with the 396 engine. I thought you were refering to "big blocks" many small blocks did have the heat shields, most were two piece items not the individual shields like on the big block.

We are talking about big blocks here.
Who all here has orginal Camaros or Chevelles that can confirm this one way or the other. Most of the Camaros I have seen did not have them. |

Big block Camaro and chevelles did not have the heat shields! I have seem many originals and owned a new 1968 SS Camaro with the396-375 HP. (NO HEAT SHIELDS)

My .02
I have never seen a survivor 1969-70 Chevelle SS B/B Car with heat shields. People who restore them that way, always regret that bad info they gt before hand. |
