Mike;
I'm not suggesting that all of the dealers in Yenko's network had a written agreement, but the Colonial agreement suggests that those dealers with special arrangements might have had them put into writing. I was wondering if Jack Douglas recalls any such written agreement. I know when I spoke with Josh Darden he did not recall his written agreement with Yenko, but after seeing it vaguely remembered it. Maybe Jack had a similar deal. I don't think additional Douglas/Yenko's will affect the values of the PA/Yenko's, I think it might be the other way around. Some people might be suspicious about a Douglas/Yenko because so little is known about them, and might prefer the more common PA/Yenko. I think it might be difficult to convince a prospective buyer that a Douglas/Yenko is equal to a PA/Yenko unless there was something in writing from Jack Douglas regarding his arrangement with Don Yenko. Just my $.02!! M

We just recently returned from a "treasure hunt" with some more Yenko paperwork.
Included in it is a brief history of Yenko Chevrolet, written by Don himself. In this "essay", dated September 19, 1969, was a paragraph relating to the Jack Douglas cars. Here is what it says, verbatim: "It should be pointed out that Yenko Sportscars did not have any type of exclusive COPO and that many other dealers have purchased cars similar to the cars purchased by Yenko Sportscars. One Yenko dealer, however (Jack Douglas in Hinsdale, Illinois), after making a direct factory purchase of 22 vehicles identical to those sold him previously by Yenko Sportscars, found it advantageous to purchase YENKO emblems and trim to enhance retailing the merchandise." |

I would say he "condoned" it. The very next paragraph goes on to tell how the Yenko cars should not take away sells, but bring them in, along with enhancing the show room. That is why he let Douglas have the stripes and such...he felt it was good "PR", and Douglas must have felt the stripes/emblems would help him move the cars faster.

Looks like that would be enough 'in writing' for me Mike. Interesting essay, what else does it say??
