The 1970 Calif.Emissions system,or NA9,never did have that trunk chimney like they used in 1971-72 Chevelles.
The 1970 system was actually deemed a bit unsafe in the case of a rearend collision. That Chimney set up was all new for the 1971-72 Chevelles,and beyond.
