I don't think Greg's is a good example of this as so far his was the 1st LS-6 produced at the Baltimore plant and labled "Pilot Job". I also doubt the emblems were changed during it's life. Because of the pilot status, they likely just weren't totally geared up yet on the 454 way of doing things yet.

It probably wasn't a visual I should have mentioned earlier on as "SS" emblems on a 454 car does not constitute a fake, just an area to examine. All in all, that Carolina Blue car is one sweet ride.

No I do not think so...The car was still wearing the original dated door panels and the emblems showed no signs of being removed and looked "time period correct" (wear and tear). I think the general agreement was that it was not time frame or plant specific as to whether the cars received the "SS" or "Malibu" emblems, but really just fate. By that I mean, whether the sheet was coded with the B22 option and the workers installed the emblems, or whether the worker as an individual recognized the fact that the "SS" emblem should have been on the car even though the B22 RPO is not on the sheet. That is why you can find 2 cars same plant that will have different emblems.

I have heard stories about P. Klute, whether their true or not, I don't know. Just because he has a show on TV doesn't mean a thing.
