Default Difference in Baldwin Motion Phases

I asked this question awhile back, but never got a good answer. I did some digging and found a post by Dan Chevy II that said that there were 6 phases. Did these phases start with just a base package so to speak, w/ only the 427, then the Phase II would be 427 w/ traction bars, then Phase III w/ 427, traction bars, recurved distributor, etc, etc? Dan

When I was a teenager, Motion was still building cars, I wrote to them asking about the Maco Shark. They sent me some brochures and in it was information about the different phases. I don't have the catalogs anymore but I remember that they had different engine packages. I remember one being called the ZL-X. I wish that I still had the catalogs but I lost them when my parents moved.

Motion only used the term "Phase III" as sort of a model name. This was used for all years. Some of his literature mentions ordering the engines as Stage I or Stage II etc. I don't believe the "Stages" were used much because the parts list changed as new and/or better parts became available. Motion would build the car how the customer wanted within certain guidelines based on Motion's experience. The cars were set up similar to the Motion M/P drag cars. IMO
