Any one help me out, with some 69 L88 Vette pic's?
This is probably one of the oddest requests this board has ever seen, and I hope I'm not being a big nusense ![]() But...I'm working on a 69 Corvette, for a computer game I'm making. And I've searched high and low for a good up close shot,of the centre gauge cluster and the engine data on the shift plate, for an L88....and can't find anything usable. I own a 68(believed to be an L71),but it's a basket case project, and it's missing the centre gauge cluster....(and correct me if I'm wrong),but the 68,had no engine data plate...so,I'm out of luck there too. So,I wondered if any one might, have some good pic's laying around......or could snap some for me,if they happen to be taking some shots of there car in the future? The bigger and more parallel to the part the pic's are,the better...but at this point, about anything that shows it fairly clear, would work far better than what I have so far. Any help, would greatly appreciated....And if any one has anything, they can send it to [email protected] ,and/or I'll check back on this post...too. Here's a link to a couple shots, incase any one wonders what I'm trying to do.... http://bigblockshop.topcities.com/L88.html Thanks,TC |

TC, I know of one car. I will have to make arrangements with the owner to see about getting some pictures. Just to let you know it won't happen overnight, in case you need them right away. Warren

TC,
These aren't the best examples, but they'll get you started until I can find something in my own photo collection that's a little higher quality. The data plates for the 1969 L-88s and ZL-1s were a bit different than the rest of the engines in that they didn't include the compression, horsepower, or torque figures... Just "427 CUBIC INCHES L88" (or ZL1 as the case may be). ![]() The center instrument cluster was basically the same as any other non-air conditioned '69 Corvette built... The L-88s did not have radios so a block off plate will be in that location. ![]() Regards, Stan Falenski |

Thanks Stan
The second shot, helps quite a bit on getting an idea of the correct shape...and also to see how the block off plate for the radio looks. Have any idea, what the square lights and button, that are on each side of the gauges, say on them? The data plate information,is pretty useful too,not to mention the octane warning sticker...I better put that on the car too ![]() |
