Hello Warren
It's been a long time since I've seen the car, and it was overgrown with high weeds at that time. Not sure of the color but thought it was a darker color-thought it was dark blue or dark green or black. The yard is actually in Ohio but directly across the river and within 3-4 miles of Wheeling. Could this have been the same place but used Wheeling as a reference point? There are 6-7, 175 foot long old chicken barns filled with old car parts but moisture/leaking roofs have ruined everything. I'm not talking anything of value but Vega hoods and rearends out of '78 Volares etc etc. The yards is owned by 2 brothers on the family farm who also built and raced stockcars and had quite a booming hipo engine building business back in the '70's. I have stoppped by several times but the gate to get on the property is always closed. The brothers went back to farming as much as I can tell . They do very limited work on the yard but they do bring in a occasional new wreck and rebuild them. Does any of this come up in the article? my email is [email protected] I would like to see that article. Thanks |

Dave,
If you get back into that yard, get the #'s from it. VIN and cowl if they are there, but it sounds likely they are not. But the partial VIN from the cowl and by the heater box should help to solve this one and give this car a VIN, instead of just a body #. ![]() Kurt

WOW...My original question has taken an interesting, and as usual, informative path!
In my original question what I was curious about was to see the numbers of Supercars that are owned by members of this site. I.E. how many 67 427 COPO Camaro's are owned by members? How many Motions are owned by members? I think it would be interesting to know what cars are represented here. Also how about an area for owners to post pics of their cars? I know Charley is a member of a club with a terrific area for posting pics....http://www.nastyz28.com. I would love to get to see some of the wonderful cars that some of the guys here have or know about. Like the 'groovy' COPO with the stripes!! One more thing. It seems a lot of the members are in the business of doing restorations. How about an area (other than just the links area) that these guys can market there services? I think everyone would like to know what restorers are in their area and the work they can do for them. (hope there is no rivalry!!!) I really think the site as a whole is amazing! I have only been coming here a month or so and I am in awe of how much information is available. Just some thoughts and ideas..... Billy

Okay, just have to ask. Given the discussion on the Burnished Brown car. Did RJ know it was not legit when he bought AND sold the car?
