We should have a pool on how much these cars will bid to and if they will sell. Charley can't play since he probably has insider info!!

Ok help me out here. I just keep learning the more time I spend on here.
BKH..you say the Yenko needs a complete restoration. Now I am only going by the one pic. To my very untrained eye the car appears to be beautiful (this is why I should not buy cars over the internet) Why does it needs a complete restoration? And even without the orininal drivetrain and needing a restoration the price should still be 75k? How much would someone like me (who has no automotive talent) have to pay someone to bring the car up to show standards and how much would it then be worth? Let my education continue...... Billy (who is cutting up his auction credit card as we speak ![]()

The car is a driver quality piece at best right now. The stripes are amature and the car need work at every point to be a great car. That is how I see it. By the time you scrape together everything needed to complete the driveline, all the trim, rubber, wheels, tires exhaust, etc you will spend some dough. Not to mention paint and body work. The color will help it sell and most buyers are not very educated about Yenko's. They just have to have one. Few are for sale right now, and sometimes you get auction fever. It would cost about another 45K to piece this one together with restoration costs. Still a good car overall...BKH

I can tell you a little about the Yenko. Low mile car with not a lick of original drivetrain. Solid car. Decent original interior. Needs complete restoration. Good sheetmetal. I believe a 02D car. Was at first Yenko reunion. My guess 75K...BKH

Sounds like Brian is saying that this is probably a $50-60k car that due to the auction may go to $75k. For another $4o in costs would you then have a non numbers matching restoration? I wonder if even then you would have a $85k or $90k car. It will really be interesting. As Brian says the auction fever can bite you (that is why my wife is making me wear a straight jacket this year). Just look at the poor sap that ended up about $8k sideways in the Red Deuce last year!!(still able to LOL).

I know the feeling.... I and another guy were going to bid on the deuce-from the stage but you got "sideways" quick (actually vertical) it was a great show to watch. We had the car pegged for 21K tops, and were astounded to see the bidding go up so fast.
See you at the auction! |

GEEZ!Charley, I was trying to get from "not a lick of original drivetrain", "needs restoration","driver" to the value of a numbers matching restoration. Would anyone be able to get this car to that condition for $40k or $50k? I am by no means an expert just trying to be more educated. It seems that such a premium is placed on original drivetrain. If this car had that would it be worth 30%-50% more?? Just asking. Hope to see you next week!!
