Default Re: Check out this COPO

The late June/early July order of 9561/9737 cars that Prout received was supposedly in the neighborhood of 10-12 cars according to a couple of salesmen that Doug and I talked to. As Steve noted, the cars were advertised locally along with COPO Chevelles and other high performance Chevrolets.

The majority (if not all) of the cars were no radio/four speed cars... Different colors... At least one of Lemans blue, Daytona yellow, and Olympic gold. I've also heard that one of the former salesmen drove a black one although I don't know if this was a demo or his personal car.

There was a Butternut yellow 9561/9737 Prout car that sold much earlier than this... March or April if I remember correctly. I don't recall if this car had the D80 option or not.

Ed Stinn also seemed to do pretty well with the COPO cars. They were right up the road from Prout... About ten miles or so wasn't it Steve?

Regards,

Stan Falenski
