I posted this on the *Pure Stock* forum on the Buick board, but I'll see if my Chevy-buds notice two VERY distinctive differences in this issue than I think I've seen in any other issue of MCR ??

(Besides the fact that not ONE of the FOUR that I bought had a subscription card in it !!)

Hey Rob,
You are not alone! My buddy Dave (owns a custom paint shop) did an article for "Mustang Illustrated" which was McMullen Argus' "vintage" Mustang magazine. He spent three days sanding, prepping and painting a car for a tech article. He had to continually stop for photos and explanations. Well when the Primedia deal went thru they nixed "Mustang Illustated" along with Dave's work (which of course he was not and will not ever be reimbursed for). They sent him a copy of the never to be released cover. Big thanks huh?

Andrew

The Harrell Chevelle issue is still on the stand around here, but my issue seemed to come in real early. I guess we know why. So, is there any update to what will become of MCR, annual or bi-annual? What is Tom Shaw going to do now? What other car magazines are Primedia going to send to the guillotine? I kind of don't want to read my last issue right now, because I dread flipping over that last page. It use to be that I would take a break from wrenching to read MCR, or just take a break from the world and get lost reading about the forgotten stories of the musclecar era. There's not a magazine I can think of, that'll replace what we have lost. There are just too many magazines that focus only one make and not one that celebrates the wide variety of them all. I've never been dedicated to any car manufaturer, exclusively. Instead, I always found most musclecars very alluring in their own right. The first piece of heavy Detroit iron I ever saw was a '70 Mach1 Mustang, for crying out loud. I have a subscription to Car Craft, Super Chevy, Autosport and will pick up any other interesting magazine like the new Chevy Rumble, but it isn't the same. With everything that has gone wrong this year, this is just another shot to the heart. I don't mean to wax poetic, but I just feel pretty damn bad. Will some other publisher, PLEASE step up to the plate?!!!!! --Bullitt

Casey
I will say:
*No small article about what is coming out in next months issue on the last page.
*A tribute to Hemi presented by HOTROD with a promotion for there magazine subscription.
* There isn't any Renewal cards in mine either, but on page 5 they do mention MCR renewal rates. And on page 50 it is also mentioned at the bottom of the page next to Joe Swezeys cover shot.
Did I win a subscription to MCR????

I just want to say how odd Tom Shaws article is this month. He doesn't ever come out and say Goodbye, and yet you can get the feeling he is...weird.
