Going through my magazines, I came upon the November 1996 issue of Car Craft. Mr.Miles Cook did an article on Joel Rosen's '70 Phase III Corvette. It was pictured next to a B-17 WWII bomber. My scanner is dead, so I don't have a way to post the pics. By the way, who makes a good reproduction of those Lemans gas caps? See ya.--Bullitt

That it is much smaller than one that Motion used.

A Vette cap is 5 3/4" across and the pop-up caps that Joel used are that same size. The mount should also be round not shaped like that one.

It looks to be a lot smaller than one that was used on the corvettes Joel sold. They also did not have the lettering on the top of the cap like that one does.

I bet that is a boat cap of somekind.

My first impression is that it is much smaller than one that Motion used.

I would ask the seller on that cap what it measures. A Vette cap is 5 3/4" across and the pop-up caps that Joel used are that same size. The mount should also be round not shaped like that one.

I have an actual one here I'll try to post a picture of it
I'm willing to trade it for other Motion item,
I have two of these, will sell or trade only one.

I will not Ebay any Motion Items at this time just drop me a line with an offer.
I am only willing to let one of the two go ,
I drove a long way for these things...and loved every second of that drive

Hey Larry! How have ya been? Haven't talked with you in a while

I will try to post this picture ??
Be patient I'll figure it out

Hey Rick,

Great to hear from you. Not much going on down here. way behind on working on my cars. Too many pressing problems to get to them yet. Fire in my kitchen, and renovating my rent houses and now the city on my ass, not to mention the ole lady is recovering from surgery. It just never seems to stop.

One of these days I will get some extra time for me.....

hope everything is going good for you.

Pantera

Okay, at the risk of sounding like a broken record I am going to ask about a particular Phase III GT that I noticed on the cover of my Feb. 2005 Corvette Fever magazine. A gold Phase III GT that I believe went through the BJ auction not too long ago.
This car could be the one that I saw in the Motion showroom as a kid. If anyone is familiar with the history of this car, would you happen to know if the Shelby side scoops were added later in the cars life or were they there right from the start?
The car I am talking about has all of the cues that I recall; gold paint (could have been referred to as "Pearl yellow" back then), smaller tail light slots (not quite as large as others I have seen)remove the red "427" badges from the tail panel and you'd have the car I remember as a kid.
I don't know why I am so obsessed with finding the car I saw as a kid; maybe it is just that the car made such an impression on me as a car loving 8 year old.

If anyone knows the car that I speak of and it's history I would appreciate it if you could confirm the history of the Shelby side scoops and if the red "427" badges were added later as well.
