Brian:
Sounds like you and Joe had a busy weekend...answering questions about the Harrell car AND recruiting for the show! Thanks for the advertisement! I can't wait to see that A-body this fall! Now, back to the Y-chevelle...was it wearing the rallys or SS wheels in TN? What trans was in the car? Anything else unusual about the car? [Edited by Chevy454 (06-11-2001 at 03:47 PM).] |

The Camaro has the rivnuts on the tunnel and has not been altered in any way.
There is at least one "Yenko" Camaro in Illinois that has paperwork back to Jack Douglas indicating it was sold as a Yenko even though it never spent the night in Cannonsburg. There are other Douglas COPOs around that did not get the Yenko treatment. It appears he sold COPOs, true Yenkos and his conversions, which were done with Yenkos knowledge. Whether or not these Douglas Yenkos are considered the real thing is up to the big boys. Ron Norman may have more info than I; he told me the story.

I am not a "Big Boy" but I would not call a Yenko a Yenko without paper back to Canonsburg. If Yenko gave him the green light to clone his own cars, I still would not consider it real. Would you consider a Yenko just a COPO Camaro? It is in a sense, but is a Yenko Sports Car from the start.
The Yenko Chevelle had its original SS wheels on at the show. It is a 4 speed car. It had an aluminum head 427 race motor in the car with all the usual speed parts, but the original 427 is still on a stand. It was very nice to see an originl paint Yenko Chevelle. Is there any other original paint survivors out there? Jeff, I hope you can confirm with Rob that you will bring your super orange COPO Chevelle to the meet. An auto on the tree is cool to see...BKH |

This Jack Douglas Chev thing really got me thinking. I agree with Brian 100%. If I got a set of stripes or a dealer did and put them on my white COPO it would not be a Yenko!
And just then it hit me. If the guy with the "Yenko" in that Chevy Rumble mag(the white one). If he is not full of $hit and really the car did come that way...is it possible that this is a Jack Douglas car????!
