Hi Brian, Just curious. Was the red Camaro a turbo 400 car with the liquid tire chain option? There was one up here in Canada that went south last year. Also, are you doing the Woodstock thing this year?

It was a Turbo 400 car. I cannot tell you about the tire chain option. The car was closed down except for the hood. Pete, have you seen this car? What's your take on it? Don't think we can make Woodstock. You have to keep the COPO torch burning in Canada..BKH

Hi Brian, I don't know if were talking about the same Camaro. Were the last 2 digets on the VIN 64. If so it likely is. I have not personally seen that car but a friend in Toronto called me last summer to say it was for sale for $25,000 in Canadian money. He faxed me the GM of Canada paperwork to prove it was real. Apperantly it had a CE block in it but he knew were the original motor was. I thought I would look at it but it sold right away. Two months later a friend in Wisconsin called to say it was in a paper for sale down there and wondered what this GM of Canada paper was all about. They did not buy it but it was for sale for $25,000. in your money. That is the last I heard of it. Was it the same car? If so not a bad mark up in price. I'm taking from what you said it's still unrestored.

That sounds about right for Carlisle prices. A $25K car suddenly becomes a $75K car. It seems that the prices go up just from the hype of being at Carlisle. I'll never forget at least 10 years ago I saw a 69 L78 Pace Car that needed complete restoration and had no documents with it for $75K! The guy kept telling people 75 and everyone thought he was saying $7500 until I said that 7500 wasn't a bad price and he said "no, $75000". A lot of people broke out laughing at that one.
