What a cool car! Saw the write up in MCR on these cars. If you don't have that article you should get it. That is one shootout I would like to see. A best 2 out of 3 would be right on. I think it is so cool the Intimidator calling on the Berger car. How intimidating. Calling all the Bergers... the ball is in your court! ![]() ![]() Peter

Here's some background info on each of the cars:
Berger SS Camaro: http://www.bergerchevy.com/berger2/CamaroSS.htm Earnhardt Camaro: http://168.144.94.134/weboptix/ So, there is going to be an Earnhardt car at the Reunion, but where can we find a Berger...are the Riley's reading? |

What is important to remember with the LS1 powered cars is they are already underated from the factory. The HP you see on the berger and earnhardt is rated at the flywheel. Most Ls1 cars put 300 to the ground bone stock which means they already put 320 to 330 at the crank bone stock.I cleared this up with Berger when I was looking at buying one. When you add exhaust and a lid you get most of the extra power there, add the custom ECM programming and you hit the "magical" 400 hp mark at the crank which is about 350 at the rear wheels, very easy for a LS1 to do.
I have seen Berger cars at the track(2 different cars with 2 different drivers) and they were no faster than a regular Z with basic bolt-ons in et and trap speed. You may want to check out LS1.com to get first hand info on these cars from hardcore racers. I changed my mind on buying a Berger since I feel you do not get much for your money.
