Andrew: To my knowledge Wallace Chev. is no longer in business. The first owner of this eg. car is none other than BodyCraft F/SA '68 Camaro, 327/275hp racecar owner. You will probably know him without me posting his name.
COPO69: You are correct, the LT1 came factory installed in the '70 Yenko Novas. However, when Don was ordering them, he spec'd out the L65 with an M20, and then in the special instructions section of the order form wrote in COPO 9010. This COPO superceded the L65/M20 with the LT1 and an M21. This is how Don got the LT1 into a non-SS body, he originally spec'd a non-SS V8 engine. Quite ingenious!! The other goodies came along with the 9737 COPO, but without a build order for '70 we cannot tell exactly what it contained. Marlin

Marlin,
That is so cool! I see the "Body Craft" Camaro at least once a month. I hope that you will be able to attend our "Muscle Car Show and Go" next season. I would love to see any member of the club there. Andrew |

Marlin, Have any original underhood pics of a Duece been found? Did the cars have decals on the air filter lid? I'm wondering what HP rating was used since the 70 Camaro LT1 used 360HP and the 70 LT1 Corvette used 370HP. Or was there no HP decal? Also did the Deuce use a special code 4:10 rear?

From what I have seen of original decals the HP rating has been cut off by Yenko...

Reilly's used car sales, Bridgeport Ct. does ring a bell. Do you ever attend the Marcus Dairy cruz nites? I saw the Yenko Duece from Scuncio there. The Stafford Springs swap meet is this weekend. Nice to see someone from CT here. The Yenko air filter decals are an interesting topic. The original pictures of the Yenko Chevelle in SS magazine shows no decals. I have seen original pics that show the 427 decal on a Yenko Camaro but have not seen original Deuce under hood pics.
Many restored cars use the 427 and the 450 HP decal but I don't think the 450 HP decal was made by Chevy until the 1970 LS6 was released. Unless Yenko made his own 450 HP decal. Anyone know of any original COPO/Yenko under hood pics that show the 450HP decal? |

Joe, I believe the 450hp decal was used for a short while on early '66 L-72 Corvettes and later that year they went to the 425 hp rating.
