I always liked those Corvettes. There was another 69 Motion Phase III GT cover car. This one looks red, has a different "Lemans Style" gas cap, stock front glass, and a different rear stripe. I was told that a pro football player bought a gold and black Phase III GT to match his team colors. When the car was being restored they contacted him and asked what all the extra switches were for that had been installed in the console. The ball player told him it was for his stereo headphones. He said he needed them to hear his music during high speed long distance road trips.

The one pictured on that cover with the Lemans cap and stock front and rear glass was the first GT car built. The reason the front and rear were left factory is that the fiberglass components were not ready in time for the 69 International Auto show and Joel wanted to show off the car and GT program. Also the gills on the front fender were installed upside down as those on most of the other cars! Joel has been known to say sometimes they made that mistake!!! HA! Looks cool no matter how they did it.

By the way, I'm positive that car is Monaco Orange also and not Red. Both of the above cars were in Vette magazine in the April 1992 issue.
