Little by little we are moving forward.
It requires either the hands of a child, or to pull the gauge cluster. Either way, it's a PITA

Great to hear you are getting to the bottom of everything!!

Back to the regularly scheduled program..........

While I am waiting on the reproduction vacuum switch for the heater I also wondered about the possibility of rebuilding the original brass switch. There is a thread on the Corvette Forum that outlines how to do this, but not something I wanted to tackle on my own.

Those in the NCRS crowd might recognize the name Gary Bosselman. Gary is part of group of car guys that have invited me when they meet for breakfast early on Fridays here. Some mutual friends in that group mentioned that Gary rebuilds C3 hedlight vacuum switches and to show the switch to him and see what he thought. I gave it to him at 6 AM this morning and he just e-mailed me the attached picture. He was able to disassemble it and has some O-rings coming to put it back together and thought that everything else looked OK.

Blessed to have good friends to help with these kinds of things.
