We're close. Given the 14th is the day Pap passed, that's the day I'm shooting for to run it for the first time back in the car. Really, I could pour gas down the carb and bark it off now, but the engine builder wants to be here for it, and I'd like to get it as close to done as I can first.

I only put the car back on the ground because, well, I haven't seen it at ride height with weight on the front end in over two years and wanted to.

Maybe you can borrow another fan to use...even a flex-a-lite with a spacer will work for the initial run. It is easier to install the fan with the radiator out of the car....more room to work. Also, since your engine guy will be there it might be good to prime the oilling system before you fire it up.

As for the fuel and tranny lines...just take your time and it will be ok. Might be easier for the tranny lines with the car up in the air...it will give you more wiggle room.

The cooler lines will definitely be done in the air. My fat ass doesn't fit under it otherwise haha
I cranked it up to 65psi on the gauge the other night. It was already run on a stand as well.

Here's a question that may seem silly, but I've actually seen conflicting information.

The cooler lines- Does the top one for the rad go to the top one for the transmission? Or do they swap?

Post tranny lines

Top line at the trans, goes to top line at the radiator. This is the return line.

I broke down and ordered a third fan. It won't look correct if you look at it, but you won't really see it under the fan shroud anyway.

I managed to hit my deadline of starting it today. Four years since he passed. Unfortunately, it's not running good. At all. It's cutting out and acting like the rev limiter is set at like 2500rpm. Then it'll smooth out and run clean. I'm guessing it's something with the PerTronix. It never has less than 12 volts at the coil even when it cuts out. It only started doing it after the video.

It's 100% something in the distributor. First, disabling the rev limiter helped a ton but it still cuts power here and there. I did get to drive it and, oh my GOD, it's gonna haul ass. The brakes are terrible, but I have a disc kit to fix it. We ended today by setting the front float bowl before running out of time and already the throttle response is evil but I haven't driven it after setting that. I forgot to mention the tach is dead too

My buddy Zebb brought his '72 Duster over earlier in the day.

That's my buddy Nick behind the wheel. He's been a huge help with the wiring and the tuning.
