I think with AC, the 3.08 was the only gear you could get. He certainly could have changed them out after the fact if he wanted to.

great car. the guy lived in a wealthy part of tulsa. the original house has been torn down and a new one built in 2016. wilkerson sold a lot of high performance chevys here in tulsa.

The boat that is the history behind this car is at Mecum right now. It is just an intimidating piece of machinery that set a speed record at over 100 MPH.

For those of you who like to study the graffiti on a spare tire, this one has plenty to offer. I am going to make a subtle attempt to clean this up some more









If I am decoding the tire correctly...
A4 = 25th week of 1970 (week starting June 15th, 1970)
ND = Topeka, KS plant
LJ = F70-15
DY = Blackwall

Right there, is where the driver would place his balls. They had be huge to run that boat at full tilt!

----If that's not enough that's only number 8. Then there was number 9, once again with 2 bigger powerplants. Then there was number 10 which had 4 engines.. That boat was restored by Mayea Marine near me and is stored at the old Packard proving grounds about 15 or so miles from me. It comes out regularly for display, usually in Algonac MI at the original Chris Craft sight which is now a marina....Bill S
