The used one is Jan 69.
Interesting as all 5 of her wheels are 1/6/9 dated. Pic 1 is the date code on the used tire. Jan 1969 Pic 2 is chart showing date codes Pic 3 is dates on the 4 NOS tires Pic 4 is the date codes on the 4 NOS tires |

Very cool and thanks for the education on tires had no idea
I bought some NOS stahl front runners a few years ago I’ll have to check those dates. Does this work for all tires or just Goodyears? |

Not my info.
Just tidbits from others articles I found on internet. This info is for Goodyear prior to 1970 only. I only dug till I found out what mine were. |

Thanks for the pic Ralph.
After further discussions with Greg and digging more info acquired. Seems these are probably all spare tires removed by dealerships- Goodyear stores back in the day. He thinks 1 came from a Chev dealer and 3 came from Goodyear stores. He and I both really searched hard for this type of stuff starting early 80's. One at least was replaced when the tires on car were replaced with radials. Note 3 of the 4 have been driven on a few miles to slightly wear the nubs down. Interested in the date of your F70X15 F70X15 was still in use in 1972 on Vettes. The 14' version seems to have had a much narrower- shorter life. Factory installed tires did not have tread tags. Some had yellow ink stamps or crayon marks though. Last edited by daveg; 01-07-2026 at 06:03 PM. |
