Just guessing here but Chuck H may have made some changes back to the correct hood for this car after he purchased it so to match the build sheet. I have a copy of this car's build sheet which does show "SS" in the air cleaner box (open element air cleaner / no cowl induction). The pic that he sent to me at the time showed the stripes and cowl induction hood.......maybe a pic from the previous owner? I had inquired about purchasing it from him at the time. I don't know how long he had owned it prior to my inquiry.

Looks much better w/o white stripes in this color combo case.
