I've always understood it to be alt, water pump, power steering if using all 3 grooves on the balancer pulley are used...
|

1st groove- Alt n water pump Center groove- water pump only Third groove- power steering

How does that work? No adjuster to install it and no way to tension it.

Kurt, a few trips to the NAPA store to get one the right size. Take the two groove water pump pulley off put the belt in the grooves then back on the pump n line up everything. Kinda PITA.
Not sure what GM’s thinking was there but if I break an alt belt I can still get back home because the water pump is driven by the center belt. Hope my battery holds charge that long. LOL 😆
