Just to clarify, the main dash harness (runs from firewall to glovebox area) was wired differently depending on the options.
If a console was optioned, the main harness received a large rectangular connector. Wires installed in connector were based on additional options. Manual with console only received the wires for the ash tray light. Grey in color mostly. Auto with console received the lights for the shift indicator, neutral safety, reverse lights and ashtray. Easy to see with the two large purple wires for neutral safety. If console gauges were ordered with either of the above, then a lot more gauge wires were added (many colors). Plus tach & clock wires were added to the main harness. So all you have to do is look at the number of wires and their colors to determine what you have. ![]()
