Known as, “Lucky Sevens” - this gorgeous 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Custom is the ultimate classic muscle car. As the VIN number indicates this car was built in Los Angeles, CA as a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 8 cylinder Coupe. The last three numbers of this cars VIN number is 777 so it only made sense to nick name it Lucky Sevens. As the trim tag indicates it left the factory with a Dover White exterior and a Black Houndstooth interior. From the information gathered it spent its entire life on the West Coast. The car was purchased in 2006 by a gentleman in California. His intention was to build the ultimate pro touring G-machine. This car made the perfect candidate because of its rust free body. The restoration was started in 2007 and was completed in 2009. This car was built with many high-end components to perform at a high level. As the receipts document he invested a total of 143,302.63 in this car between parts and labor. The 45,000.00 labor cost was with an extremely low labor rate of 25.00 per hour x 1800 hours. If the labor rate was the average 85.00 per hour x 1800 hours it would've been 153,000.00 in labor cost bringing the total cost of the build to 251,302.63! The car was originally built with a GM Performance ZZ454 V8 but he wasn't satisfied with the power. In 2013, he pulled out the 454 V8 and he purchased a new Chevrolet Performance ZL1 Aluminum 489 V8 engine block. He had the engine built by Pettis Performance and added fuel injection. The car had roughly 3,000 miles on the old 454 V8 and roughly 3,000 miles on the ZL1 489 V8. During his time of ownership he participated in multiple Autocross events which are documented with articles and photos in magazines. Please note the Autocross events took place when the car had the 454 V8 engine. The magazine exposure includes Chevy Hi-Performance magazine, Popular Hot Rodding magazine, Camaro Performers magazine and Goodguys magazine. All the magazines are included with exception of Goodguys. The car was awarded 1st Place at the San Diego Main Street America People's Choice Awards, Best Paint at Encinitas Main Street Car Cruise Nights and Best Engine at the Coronado Speed Festival. None of these awards are included as the gentleman wanted to keep them. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car from the gentleman in May of 2020 and sold the car in August of 2020 to a gentleman who lives in Graford, Texas. Unfortunately, he got really busy with work and couldn't find time to enjoy the car so he contacted Marc Schiliro about purchasing the car back. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car from him in November of 2023. The car was picked up with an enclosed trailer by Brian Smiley who's the father of Corey Smiley that works for MS CLASSIC CARS. Brian owns of DFW Performance in Denton, Texas and agreed to install new Vintage Air Conditioning along with some other upgrades. MS CLASSIC CARS invested a total of 34,764.17 in service work which is documented with an invoice in the photo gallery. June of 2025 is the first time it's been listed for sale.

The exterior of this car is total eye candy with its beautiful design and color scheme. This car definitely has the pop factor that attracts a ton of attention. The body is really straight and it has really nice gap lines throughout. The car has a new steel cowl hood, front spoiler, rear spoiler and RS style headlight setup. The body was finished in GM Arrival Blue which is a spectacular color especially on a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. The body and paint work was completed by well-known Syndicate Automotive Concepts in California. The paint job is beautiful and show quality but not flawless. This car was completed 16 years ago and has been driven 6,185 miles so there are a few minor imperfections. The paint was recently detailed to a brilliant shine by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS and truly look wet. The blue color is complemented with satin black accents which can be found on the front grille, lower quarter trim and rear tail panel. All of the glass was replaced new and lightly tinted throughout. All of glass trim is beautiful and fits very nicely. Everything on the exterior has been restored or replaced such as the wipers, dual mirrors, door handles, grille, headlight covers, front bumper, rear bumper, marker lights and lights. Some of the custom exterior features include Detroit Speed windshield wiper motor, Detroit Speed electric headlights, front tow hook, rear taillight bezels and ZL1 emblems on the grille, fenders and rear tail panel. The car is a great stance on custom built Budnik Shotgun wheels that are polished with a brushed center. The front wheels are 18 and the rear wheels are 19. The wheels are wrapped with new Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires that are 265-35-18 on the front and 275-35-19 on the rear. Lucky Sevens is dressed to impress!

The interior of this car is car is the perfect combination of original and custom. The entire interior was stripped to a bare shell during the restoration and covered with B-Quiet sound deadening. This material keeps the heat and road noise out of the cabin. The color was changed from Black Houndstooth to all Black. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced such as the new TMI one piece vinyl molded headliner, sun visors, dash pad, dash instrumentation and accessories, steering wheel, door sills, door panels, door hardware, seats and carpeting. Some of the interior custom features include a Ridetech Tiger Cage roll car that removes to access back seats, Autowire wiring harness, rear view mirror, dash bezel, Autometer Ultralite carbon fiber gauges, Detroit Speed billet knobs, oil temp gauge in ash tray, tilt steering column with billet stalks, 14” Billet Specialties Formula steering wheel, center console with carbon fiber shift bezel, leather boot, Hurst shifter, switches, cup holders and storage compartment, new Vintage Air Conditioning, Procar Scat Elite leather bucket seats, seat belts, Modo Innovations aluminum pedals and thick carpeting with custom Camaro embossed floor mats. It also has a custom sound system consisting of a Pioneer stereo unit, Alpine amplifier and four Infinity speakers. The front speakers are located in the kicker panels and the rear speakers are located on the package tray. The trunk compartment was also wrapped in B-Quiet sound deadening. It was boxed and upholstered in black leather. A blue bow tie emblem was added to match the exterior color. An Optima Red Top battery was mounted in the trunk with an aluminum case. Its equipped with a battery disconnect knob and new NOCO Genius built in trickle charger for storage.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many custom components. The back side of the hood was painted the body color which looks great. The hood has a chrome hood latch spring and Detroit Speed aluminum hood hinges. The firewall was painted satin black. A set of Anvil carbon fiber inner fenders were added which not only look great but reduce the weight by 15 pounds. They also allow for a wider front wheel clearance. A set of Fesler aluminum fender braces were added which also look great. It has a custom Autorad radiator support that was power coated satin black to match the firewall. All of the hoses are separated with custom separators and have heat shrink clamps. The car is powered by a fuel injected Chevrolet Performance ZL1 aluminum 489 V8 engine w/ 625HP. This engine features an improved design of one of the rarest production engines ever built known as the ZL1 aluminum big block used in 1969 Camaros and Corvettes. It was built and blueprinted by Pettis Performance. Its 10.4:1 compression so it runs on 91+ octane pump gas. This is an amazing engine for power and reliability. It's equipped with Brodix aluminum heads, a road-racing high-capacity oil pan and a new Custom Concept pulley system. The Holley Avenger electronic fuel injection setup is one of the best on the market. It has Aeromotive Stealth fuel tank, Aeromotive fuel system components, full PTFE fuel lines and II Much Fabrication fuel vent. The engine breathes through Hedmann Hedders ceramic headers and Magnaflow exhaust system that was wrapped with heat tape in sections. The engine is cooled by an Autorad aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and runs cool. The engine is coupled to a T-56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive. It has a new McLeod RST street twin-disc clutch, short-throw Hurst shifter, QuickTime SFI bellhousing, SpeedTech cross member and GM Hydraulic clutch system. The power is turned through a QA-1 carbon fiber driveshaft which is 12 pounds lighter than a steel driveshaft and noticeably better. The power is transferred to a Moser 12-bolt POSI rear end with 3.42 gears, 33-spline TruTrac axles, Ford Torino big bearings and bolt-in axles and aluminum girdle. This car is equipped with a great drivetrain!

The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout with many custom components. The underside of this car is nice enough to display with mirrors at a car show. The floors were painted in a semi-gloss black which looks great. The Lee Power Steering and Moog power steering system is awesome and has a remote finned power steering reservoir for improved cooling on the track. The front and rear suspension components and sub frame connectors are by SpeedTech, Hotchkis and Global West. It has new QA1 adjustable shocks on all 4 corners that can be set for street or track. It's equipped with a Wilwood braking system with a Wilwood master cylinder, 6-piston calipers with 14” rotors on the front and 13” on the rear. This car is built to pound the pavement while looking good doing it.
