Congrats on the work you have done! I have a friend who did own a '68RS Z/28, also red on red with lots of options, fold down rear seat, power steering & a tilt steering wheel. He had all parts except the engine block that was sold out of the car and never found. He's sold it somewhere and moved on. Glad to see yours has been resurrected!

Very nice work!!! Cool it's a deluxe interior car and red to boot. Can't wait to see more pictures, guys like you and Chick detailing your work is so much appreciated!! I'm hopefully getting closer to my 12D 68 being started on, I just have to stop acquiring other distractions.

That sounds like a great package. Was your friend’s red interior the deluxe style? I’m trying to keep track of the similar cars and have only seen one other red / deluxe red RS Z. It was a white vinyl top one.

Started on the N30 steering wheel and column refresh. Main issue is some plastic cracks to epoxy.

Finally got some color on this thing...

Diamont Code R Matador Red base, tweaked slightly to better match some of the existing original paint remnants.

Plan to clear it after work tomorrow.

Milestone. Finally got it in some clear. I'll let it cure for a few days then sand out some texture and lay down a couple more coats. Overall feeling pretty good about it.

So good. Love this car! That steering wheel looks very nice for an original. Normally they're crazed around the spoke to rim area, and most have up to 1/4 inch gaps in the rim splits.

I have some MarineTek epoxy coming to fill what cracks there are between the spokes and rim. Glad it won’t take too much work.
