Be careful!!! The finish on the latest Spectra tanks I have seen is now a PAINTED grey paint finish.....NOT the original ternes steel/natural finish that Spectra used to sell.
This was in the last two months on a '70 Buick GS tank and a '72 Olds 442 tank....both Spectra brand. ALSO - important - the description/listing on RockAuto's site for the Spectra tanks is INCORRECT as they don't indicate the painted finish. Still indicates a natural or terne steel finish. Outright incorrect.....I was able to return the '70 GS tank b/c of the misleading description. Not 100% sure if this applies to the Camaro or Firebird tanks but you better check first before ordering. This has to do w/Spectra tanks only.....there are other brands that may still have the terne steel finish. Auto City Classics offers a Taiwan-made terne steel Abody tank but my buddy ordered one of those a month ago (Buick GS) and it was extremely scratched up on the underside (the side you see when installed). I think Spectra has moved their production offshore as well. You might do some further digging/research before pulling the trigger on a Spectra tank....MIGHT avoid some disappointment and headaches.
