Looking for a set of hood louver inserts for my ‘68 Nova restoration.
I have NOS bezels, but my inserts have a bunch of broken pins. Looking for NOS, but will consider any originals that don’t have broken pins or fins. No re-pops please |

You are aware that the Nova vs Camaro louvers are different.

These are original removed long ago, the studs in good shape with original gaskets and only 3 nuts.

I was not aware… I think the earliest ones were cut differently on the outer fins, but am unsure if that’s the difference you are referring to - maybe those only ended up on Camaros..I had no idea…Is there another difference?

I should have explained further. A Nova hood is flat where these set therefore the louver is flat. A first Gen Camaro hood is a little curved- arched ever so slightly therefore the louver is slightly arched. Holding them side by side it’s still hard to see this but it’s there. Best way to check them is with a straight edge device.
The stud pattern is the same so they’ll fit on either hood but the flat Nova louver will rock on the Camaro hood. I think this is why you see so many original pieces with broken studs. Guys tighten them down to much when they’re not seated right on the correct hood. I read all this not too long ago either here on the site or on the GRC site, can’t remember.

Awesome info.. I will keep a lookout. I always wondered how so many studs ended up being broken.. always thought on removal/storage. Learn something everyday here. Than you so much!

Yes, very interesting. I recently bought a pair of NOS louvers that came with Nova bezels. I'll need to check them against my originals to see if they are flat. If so, I may have them available.

I just looked at my NOS louvers and they are both 3927442 and DO have the curvature. I have 2 Nova bezels that have a GM part # 3927443 and appear flat. Not positive if they are original or repro. My originals are on the hood and I didn't remove them to check.
